Restaurant & food led pub sales bounce in August

The absence of riots across the UK’s major cities alongside the impact of the Olympics in London combined to boost sales for the UK’s largest restaurant and food-led pub companies according to the latest Coffer Peach Business Tracker.   The Tracker suggests that sales across the country as a whole were up by 2.1% on a LfL basis but that this split between a 5% rise inside the M25 and a 1% rise elsewhere in the country. When you find out that something's not working with your bar, do you automatically think it's the product or the marketing that is the problem? I'm working on an event that did well last year but needs to do better, and the people I'm working with want to change the days of the event - they think that's the problem....me, I think that the day doesn't really matter too much, if you have enough good marketing & advertising it will bring people in and the event will be successful.
