2013: A Responsive Year

2013: A Responsive Year

In the last few months, you may have noticed that some of your favourite websites have changed their look and the more observant of you would have additionally noticed how these sites have been built with mobile consumption in mind. You've probably seen many an article in the last year highlighting the rise of people using their mobile devices to browse the internet or use mobile apps which require an active connection.  The internet is now big business on mobile - some regard it as important as call time and this attitude is reflected in pricing strategies of the major mobile networks as well as the introduction of groundbreaking connectivity technologies such as the eagerly awaited 4G communication standard. If you already regularly browse the net on your phone, you may have noticed how most websites are not really built for mobile.  You'll find that you have to zoom in and scroll across the page on every line of text - it's...

Blame the marketeers!

Blame the marketeers!

This week I did something for the first and hopefully the last time.  I filled my diesel car up with unleaded. I went to the counter to pay and told the server pump 6 and she told me that was £78 of unleaded.  I told her no it was £78 of diesel. To which she replied NO...its £78 of unleaded. With my extensive knowledge of the workings of a petrol station I asked if it was possible for the nozzle to give the wrong reading (God forbid I may have made a mistake!) to be told no,  it was technically impossible! So after an initial fuming and blaming my lack of lunch for my poor attention I had time to kill while waiting for a clever man and a piece of plastic to remove the poison from my poor car.  It was then that I noticed how petrol pumps are merchandised.  To the left you have the cheaper option - the middle the...

Beer of the Month

Beer of the Month

Lowlander are an independent bar and brasserie located in London.  They are recognised as a specialist of premium beer, mainly from the Low Countries (Belgium & Netherlands). Lowlander stock over 100 bottled beer products and up to 30 on draught. Every month we introduce a new variety of beer in our series of  monthly videos - Beer of the Month. Each month we position a member of the Lowlander team to discuss the next month's. Lowlander are widely praised for their knowledgeable and helpful staff so their appearance in the videos goes a long way to satisfying the viewer and the beer connoisseur.   View our Beer of the Month videos   In venue we have also distributed the below 'beer guide' which provides visitors with a basic insight into the featured products.  The guide also encourages the reader to book a beer tasting experience.     I'd definitely recommend this just as an advocate of the brand as opposed to it's client.  As a fan of premium beer, I'm yet to find anywhere else that offers a...

Despite the growth in social media, managers are still unclear as to how it can be used to benefit their organisations. Part of the problem stems from confusing customers with online community members through the popularisation of the term ‘social customer relationship management’ (social CRM). This term is a misnomer because online community members are not necessarily customers of the organisation. A better term is community relationship management (that is, CoRM) because it more accurately reflects what people do in online communities – connect, converse, create and collaborate. Organisations can take advantage of these predispositions by using marketing research and public relations, nurturing opinion leaders or advocates, placing and creating advertisements, developing new products, lowering the cost-to-serve, building brand loyalty and sales, and amplifying buzz and visibility for the organisation....

Sport at Walkabout

Magnify Marketing is proud to have played a significant part in the rise of Walkabout as the UK's number one sports bar. Boasting 30 venues in the UK, Walkabout also specialises in late night entertainment and delivering the 'awesome Aussie spirit' for which it has become synonymous with.
